A probity inquiry is an investigation into whether an individual is fit and proper to work in the industry for which they have applied for a licence.
To determine whether someone is fit and proper we consider the following factors:
We want to make sure that people have the appropriate skills and knowledge to work in, supervise or manage in the industry for which they have applied for a licence.
If you are ever the subject of a probity inquiry, we advise you to be truthful and cooperative and to provide full disclosure on your application form and to any questions we ask you.
Failure to fully disclose matters is likely to result in the refusal of your application, and may also be a criminal offence punishable by a fine of up to $5,500 or 6 months imprisonment.
