Applications invited for Board Members of the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority

Applications are invited from suitable persons wishing to be considered for appointment as a Board Member of the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA). The NSW Government is seeking to appoint new Board members due to recent vacancies.

​Purpose of the ILGA Board

The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (the Authority) is established under the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007. The Authority is a statutory decision-maker responsible for a range of casino, liquor, registered club and gaming machine regulatory functions.​

About the role of ILGA Board Members​

The Board currently meets on a fortnightly basis during business hours in Sydney.

ILGA Board members use their qualifications in law, finance or planning to undertake a range of functions under the gaming and liquor legislation.

Candidates will need to demonstrate their capability to deliver results as a member of a statutory board, public company or non-government board. This background may include government regulation, legal, strategic land use planning or related fields of regulatory sensitivity and complexity.

Remuneration is $55,000 per annum. More information can be found in the position description. (PDF, 292KB)

Board members are subject to a privacy and confidentiality deed of non-disclosure and must declare any conflicts of interest. Applicants will be subject to a probity check.

Assessment pr​​ocess

Suitable applicants will progress to an interview with a selection panel representing a background and understanding of issues facing the liquor and gaming industry in NSW and a strong legal background with an understanding of the legislation regulating the liquor and gaming industry in NSW
