Sydney CBD Entertainment Precinct Plan of Management

All licenced premises in the Sydney CBD precinct must comply with the Plan of Management for the Sydney CBD Entertainment Precinct (PDF, 1.3MB).

This plan is the combined work of:

  • L&GNSW
  • Transport for NSW
  • NSW Health
  • the City of Sydney
  • Sydney CBD liquor accords
  • major venue and chain owners
  • the Taxi Council.

The plan aims to:

  • reduce alcohol-related violence and bad behaviour in licensed venues
  • manage public spaces
  • promote better transport options.

Some conditions in the plan apply to all licensed premises in the precinct. Others apply only to certain licence categories.

Exemptions from New Year's Eve lock out

New Year's Eve is unique, so the lock outs on licensed venues across the Sydney CBD precinct does not apply. However, the 3am halt to alcohol service remains.

Exemptions from special conditions

You can get exemptions from special conditions in some circumstances.

Please use this Exemption from a precinct-related special licence condition form (PDF, 403KB) if you want an exemption from a special condition.
