The NSW Government has announced proposed reforms to modernise regulation of the state's casinos that will go before Parliament today, 6 March 2018.
This follows last year's release of the Casino Modernisation Review and the Government's response to it.
The reforms support a more modern casino regulatory regime and recommends:
With Crown Sydney expected to open in 2021, the changes will ensure a modern regulatory regime is applied consistently to both Crown Sydney and The Star.
The review was undertaken by independent consultants The Agenda Group as part of the NSW Government's commitment to update casino regulation to cater for this new competitive environment.
