On 13 April 2017 a delegate of the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (Authority) approved the application under section 34 of the Gaming Machines Act 2001 (Act) for a gaming machine threshold increase of one (from 29 to 30) for Lone Pine Tavern, LIQH400118945.

The Authority has approved under section 36 of the Act the associated Local Impact Assessment (LIA), subject to the following conditions:

i.    No more than 28 gaming machines may be installed at the Hotel.

ii.    The gaming machine entitlements transferred to the Hotel as a result of the approval of this gaming machine threshold increase application must be transferred from hotels located in Band 2 or Band 3 metropolitan Local Government Areas (LGAs).

iii.    By 31 July 2017 the Hotel must provide evidence to the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority that it has made a payment of $10,000, as an LIA contribution, to the Women's Activities and Self Help (W.A.S.H.) House. The funding will be used for the provision of face-to-face counselling sessions for women attempting to remove themselves and their children from domestic violence.
