A delegate of the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (Authority) approved the application under section 34 of the Gaming Machines Act 2001 (Act) for a gaming machine threshold increase of six (from 12 to 18) for Peden's Hotel, LIQH400114915.

The Authority delegate has approved under section 36 of the Act the associated Local Impact Assessment (LIA), subject to the following conditions:

  1. By 31 May 2018 Peden's Hotel must provide evidence to the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority that it has made a payment of $80,000, as an LIA contribution, to Cessnock District Rescue Squad to update and purchase further equipment, and to fund the upkeep of rescue vehicles at both the Cessnock and Kurri Kurri bases.
