The New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA) Board has commenced its inquiry under section 31 of the Casino Control Act 1992 into whether the operator of the Star Casino, Sydney (The Star Pty Ltd) is suitable to continue to give effect to the casino licence and whether it is in the public interest that the licence should continue.

Jonathan Horton QC has been appointed by the ILGA Board to hold an inquiry under section 143 of the Casino Control Act to inform this investigation.  He will be assisted by Barrister Mr Caspar Conde.
