The NSW Government has appointed two new members to the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority Board which makes decisions on higher risk licensing proposals and disciplinary matters involving hotels, clubs, bottle shops and the casino.
The chair of the authority, Philip Crawford, has welcomed the appointments of Sarah Dinning and Samantha Zouroudis.
“These new members bring a wide array of skills and experience which will be a great asset to the authority,” Mr Crawford said. “People appointed to the ILGA board must be of the highest integrity and promote fair, transparent and efficient decision-making. Both new members clearly meet these requirements.”
The NSW Government has today confirmed the following appointments for three-year terms:
Sarah Dinning, a director of a management consultancy for strategy development, consultation and stakeholder engagement. She has also held senior roles in the NSW Government including Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Sydney Catchment Authority.
Samantha Zouroudis, a solicitor based in Sydney who has practised in Australia and the UK for 10 years.
The new appointments bring the Board’s membership to eight, joining Mr Crawford, deputy chair David Armati and members Craig Sahlin, Stephen Parbery, Nicky McWilliam and Murray Smith.
“The authority is well positioned to deal with the more contentious liquor and gaming matters while ensuring improved efficiency, timeliness and certainty of decision-making under the Government’s recently implemented structural reforms for liquor and gaming including creation of a new fit-for-purpose regulator, Liquor & Gaming NSW,” Mr Crawford said.
“We are committed to fair and transparent decision making and dealing with matters in a timely and efficient manner.”
