Clubgrants support upgrade for Redfern arts and culture hub

Liquor & Gaming NSW’s Clubgrants infrastructure funding has provided $147,750 for improvements to the 107 Projects arts and cultural community hub in Redfern.

The funding will support upgraded lighting and audio-visual equipment as well as improvements to the hub’s layout.

The City of Sydney Council-owned venue, formerly a disused car park garage, includes public presentation spaces, artist studios, workshop areas and offices.

It houses six arts organisations and runs over 700 events per year.

The works have been funded from the Government’s Infrastructure Grants supported by the Clubgrants Category 3 program.

Over $50 million in Clubgrants funding is being provided in the current term of government for local community infrastructure projects across arts and culture, sport and recreation and emergency preparedness.

These grants are funded through a rebate on the state’s registered clubs’ gaming machines to reinvest profits back into community projects.

The latest round of arts and culture infrastructure funding has seen 13 projects across NSW chosen from a strong field of more than 90 applicants.
