Extended trading hours for special events

Special extended trading arrangements have been put in place for hotels and eligible registered clubs for cultural and sporting special events this year including Vivid Festival, State of Origin, the NRL Grand Final and FIFA World Cup.

Extended trading has also been provided for hotels and clubs located near major regional events in Bathurst and Coonamble, including Bathurst 1000, the Coonamble Rodeo & Campdraft and Newcastle 500.

Venues that are already approved to trade during or beyond the extended hours are not impacted by these special arrangements, and can continue to trade as usual.

The extended trading will not change Sydney's last drinks and lockout laws, or the cut off times for the sale of takeaway alcohol state wide.

Licensees must also still comply with any individual trading restrictions or other special conditions that apply to their licences under the Liquor Act 2007.
